It is like a trip inside a trip; the area around Torre Salinas, like mostly everywhere in Sardinia, offers a multitude of Summer festivals until the first half of September and fairs, where you can taste our local products and get to know more and more about our culture and traditions.
From June until the first weeks of September, Muravera is very busy because of many cultural events such as theater plays or touring shows, artisan markets, free tasting, music festivals and several other street performances suitable for both adults and children. Streets are closed to traffic along the shopping area so that everybody can walk freely until late, enjoying the Summer breeze.
This is the most important outcome of the Sarrabus region, famous for its juicy oranges, whose rich production is mainly due to the climate, the territory and are known all over the island.
The festival cannot be missed. It takes place in April and along with the naturalistic patrimony of the coast, is one of the best resources of the region.
People parade along the main street of Muravera, wearing traditional clothes and performing folk dances, accompanied by horses and equestrians and the famous “etnotraccas” which are carts covered in flowers and oranges trailed by tractors, on top of which people perform traditional crafts or scenes from our ancestors’ everyday life.
Visitors have the chance to taste all the homemade products made out of oranges such as sweets, cakes, jams, liquors and buy the fruit.
